About BT Group

BT. Bringing it all together for 2012

The 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games in London. It’s going to be a spectacular, historic few weeks.

And while 2012 may seem a long way off, the work starts now. In fact it’s started already.

As Official Communications Services Partner for the Olympic and Paralympic Games, we’re setting out on a five year journey.

It’s a huge commitment - but we’re up for it.

We’re doing it because we believe in the power of communication to help make a better world.

We’re doing it because we want to make a difference, and when we asked BT people, almost 90% said they wanted us to make a difference too. We’re doing it because it’s a fantastic opportunity to show the world what we can do, by providing the critical communications services essential to London 2012.

In short, we will help take the London 2012 Games to the world and will bring the world to London.

We’re doing it because we are firm believers in the Olympic ideal. We’ve been long-term supporters of many related bodies and initiatives, including:

  • Team GB
  • Paralympics GB
  • Sustainability issues (we’re a Sustainability Partner)
  • Education initiatives
  • Arts and culture

By supplying the communications infrastructure, by supporting athletes, and by being an active, determined sustainability partner, we will make a world of difference to London 2012.

That’s our promise.

BT is bringing it all together for London 2012.

In July 2012, the Games of the 30th Olympiad will open in London. This will be the third time that London has hosted the Games, first in 1908 and then in 1948.

Scale of 2012 Games

The British Paralympic Association was launched one year after the Seoul games in 1988.
