Careers

How much will I earn?

As an apprentice you work hard. But we pay you pretty well for it. In fact, it's a great salary if you are just out of school or college. And if you grab the chance to learn new skills with both hands, you will quickly be given the opportunity to earn more.

From day one, you get:

  • a starting salary from £11,000 a year (£14,500 for BT Operate Higher Apprenticeships)

  • 25 days' holiday a year

  • opportunities to buy BT shares

  • the option to join our company pension scheme

  • • staff discounts on BT products, including free BT Broadband / Talk & Vision Package

On top of all this, you get a personal development programme, the chance to study for further academic or technical qualifications, and fantastic opportunities to move your career onwards and upwards in BT. And the more flexible you are about where you are based, the more we can offer you.

But don't worry - we don't work our apprentices 24/7. In fact, we keep an eye on your work/life balance to make sure you are getting it right.

And our equal opportunities policy means exactly what it says: we're really proud to have people at BT offering such a rich and diverse source of talent and skills. BT is a Two Ticks employer and the responsibility is taken seriously. There are various support networks and procedures to make BT a truly inclusive place to work.
