What's it like?

The IT environment is fast paced and ever changing. It's exciting and challenging to support some of our biggest customers to help them advance in technology and meet the demands of their customers after all their business is our business.

Who will I work with?

The base and knowledge of skills within this department is varied with people continually developing, learning and sharing new skills/knowledge. Irrespective of grade it is very obvious in this department that we all share the common goal of getting it right for our customers.

What will I be doing?

Allsorts! From basic processes like raising a fault, through to working with advanced technology, like managing customer networks. There is the opportunity to specialise in voice ( Nortel) or data (Cisco) or both. We manage every aspect of our customers communications systems from diagnostics through to repair/monitoring to ensure smooth operation of their network and minimum disruption to their business.

Where will I work?

This will depend you your skill set and your development plan that will be agreed with your line manager but you could be working on the customer site within their data centre, in a BT Building or travelling from site to site. There is so much scope to develop and if you are ambitious with the right skill set and working towards accreditation there are many opportunities to work in many other parts of the business including overseas opportunities.
