What we do

BT Wholesale’s products focus on the provision of core network capabilities and broadband, conveyance and connectivity products. Our strategy is to offer our customers a service wrap around these core products to offer complete managed service solutions. Indeed, our strategic intent is to be a world class enabler of converged network solutions. BT Wholesale is BT's channel to market for the majority of Communication Provider's (CPs) in this country. The majority of BT Wholesale’s revenues come from external customers and our commitment to fair and equal treatment of all customers – whether internal or external – is reflected by our function as a separate line of business within BT Group.   

Software and systems play an increasingly critical role in the operation of our networks and products. Software control offers the opportunity to do things faster and more efficiently; to reduce time to market and eliminate duplication and reduce costs. That is why to help exploit these advantages fully, BT recently created two new units, BT Design and BT Operate so we can more closely align our IT and networks operations globally. These new units have drawn their resources from network and IT people previously located in BT Wholesale, One-IT, Global Services and BT Retail.
