The application form covers the following areas:

Work experience

List all relevant work experience, including work at home and any holiday or sandwich placements.

Please also list any periods of travel or unemployment and highlight any work you've done for BT - including time spent on our undergraduate placement scheme.

Educational record

Please make sure you have the minimum educational qualifications before you submit your application. Please visit our What We’re Looking For section to view our minimum recruitment criteria.

Record your academic qualifications starting with the most recent. Include any other qualifications such as:

  • Master or PhD degree
  • Bachelor Degree (you’ll need at least a 2.1)
  • HND, HNC, NVQs, BTEC
  • OU credits
  • Access
  • A-Levels and AS-Levels
  • Highers
  • Leaving Certificate
  • GCSEs, O-Levels, AO-Levels and CSEs
  • Sixth-year studies
  • Ordinaries, Intermediates
  • Overseas equivalents, e.g. Baccalaureate, Abitur, VWO Diploma

In the Pre-University Education section you will need to list your High School qualifications (e.g. Baccalaureate). For non-UK High School qualifications, please select Other in the drop-down menu and type in the name of the qualification.

Languages

You need to be fluent in English.

Career opportunities

You'll need to choose the stream you want to be considered for. If you apply to the Functional Specialist or the Business Management stream, you'll also be asked to choose which function / role you'd like to apply for.

Location

Our graduate vacancies are in major UK towns and cities.

Our Technical (ICT) vacancies are based at Adastral Park in Ipswich, East Anglia

Our Functional Specialist vacancies are:

  • based in London (Marketing)
  • flexible throughout the South East (HR)

Our Business Management vacancies are:

  • based in London (Customer Experience)
  • based in Canterbury, Dundee, London and Thurso (Business / Corporate Sales)
  • flexible throughout the UK (Project Management / Business Improvement)

Competency-based questions

These questions are designed to help us understand how you communicate with and influence others in a team and your approach to getting things done. We use the responses to these questions as the key information by which to assess your application and we strongly recommend that your set aside time to think carefully about your responses and use the full word allocation. These questions are mandatory and must be completed. If you don’t complete these questions we won’t be able to accept your application.

Use this section to provide any further information you think is relevant to your application, including: specific interests; specialist skills or knowledge; any interest you have in working overseas and, if so, where; and membership of professional bodies.
