BT Graduate online application - Terms and conditions

Before completing the application form please ensure you match our criteria and agree to our terms and conditions.

1. To the best of your knowledge the information entered is true, complete and accurate and you understand that if any particulars you have given are found to be false you may be regarded as ineligible for recruitment or dismissed after employment.

2. A condition of applying to BT is that a number of identity checks must be undertaken and you will be asked to provide evidence of the following by producing original documents during the selection process:

  • Photographic Proof of Identity e.g. Passport, Driving Licence
  • Proof of entitlement to work in the UK
  • Driving Licence (if held)
  • Confirmation of current residence e.g. Bank Statement
  • Qualifications

Employment with BT is also subject to the satisfactory completion of enquiries regarding your suitability for employment, which will be made should BT subsequently make an offer of employment. These enquiries will include written professional or academic references for the previous 3 years, an assessment of your health by BT's Occupational Health Service and a Criminal Background check. Accenture HR Services will organise these enquiries on behalf of BT. For further information on the Criminal Background check by Disclosure Scotland, please visit their website at www.disclosurescotland.co.uk.

3. You consent to BT holding personal data relevant to the purpose of assessing your suitability for employment within any BT Business. This includes sharing your personal data with our third party supplier responsible for the selection process and processing your personal data outside the EEC. You are also consenting to any BT Business using your information to contact you regarding the progress of your application from time to time.

4. First choice applications for opportunities in Northern Ireland will not be processed beyond the telephone interview stage until after the Northern Ireland closing date as specified on the BT Careers website.

Our minimum criteria

To qualify for BT's Graduate scheme:

  • You must have achieved, or expect to achieve, a 2.1 honours degree or better (e.g. a Master's qualification).
  • For vacancies within the Finance work area you will need to have attained grade B or above in GCSE Maths.
  • You must also have attained a minimum number of 280 UCAS points at A level or equivalent qualification. (If you have a disability and feel that it may have impacted on your ability to reach the minimum UCAS standard, please answer yes to the relevant question below and we will assess your application on an individual basis.) Please visit the Tariff Calculator if you encounter problems identifying the UCAS points appropriate to your qualification.
International equivalents at both levels are acceptable. If you are unsure about the appropriateness of an international degree or qualification, please seek guidance from your Careers Advisor (University Careers Service), or from UCAS (01242 544900 or e-mail enq@UCAS.ac.uk ).

BT will also only consider applications from those who already have the appropriate immigration permission to work in the UK without any restrictions. This is because in the event of BT subsequently needing to apply for a work permit, we would need to show that there are no suitable candidates who are nationals of the European Economic Area (EU States plus Norway and Iceland).
