In October 2007, hundreds of musicians, celebrities and music industry professionals gathered for the UK’s only awards dedicated to digital music entertainment – the BT Digital Music Awards.
Natasha Bedingfield walked away with Best Pop Artist, while digital stalwarts The Chemical Brothers beat newer artists such as Just Jack and Calvin Harris to win Best Electronic Artist or DJ.
Funeral for a Friend won Artist of the Year despite stiff competition from Razorlight, Rihanna and Bloc Party.
Muse and Lemar repeated their success in last year’s awards – with Muse winning Best Rock/Indie Artist and Lemar winning Best Urban Artist.
A total of 21 awards were presented – 13 of which were voted for by music fans online and seven by a panel of experts. The awards are presented in association with BTPodshow.com, Packard Bell, hmv.com, The Independent, Yahoo Music and BBC 6 Music.
