

Our MBA Leadership Programme operates as an internal consulting unit across BT. As a team member, you will have the opportunity to work across a diverse range of projects across the business to stretch and challenge your skills and broaden your network.
After the first project upon joining the programme, most team members play a key role in identifying their next project and being involved in work that holds particular interest for them. The management team will provide you with guidance and direction in securing these projects and sourcing opportunities from across the business.

Some examples of projects conducted by team members in the past include:
Operating model and transformation agenda
- Defined the new operating model and deployed new business processes across vendors in India achieving cost savings of £9.5M in FY08
- Service Design Reorganisation: conducted Overhead Value Added analysis to drive efficiency across Service Design organisations identifying potential savings of 20% in each area
- IT Investment Prioritisation: implemented and moved into BAU Star Chamber process to drive pan-BT prioritisation of IT investment and Horizontal Reviews to identify synergy opportunities
Complex contracts
- Vendor Management: proposed non-preferred vendors spend reduction through demand shift towards Strada suppliers and increase of BT bench utilisation; proposal approved from the execution committee and moved into implementation phase. Targeted savings of £20m
Outsourcing
- Designed milestone’s due diligence process and piloted it; remit of the project extended to Finance
- Set up of Billing Plus project, managed programme, reached agreement with the countries involved on the key principles in the MSA, signed-off MSA and kicked-off the programme for executing local country agreements
Customer experience
- A rigorous change management agenda being rolled out to Consumer
- An improved design approach including targeted business process analysis, 100% usability design, earlier involvement of CAT testing
- Leadership in Root Cause Analysis using holistic top-down statistical analysis to analyse queues and sequences.
- Right First Time improvement benefits and £10m of cost savings by delivering of strategic automation programme through BT.com
Innovation
- Acted as Programme Director for Enterprise Cloud Services driving delivery of first proof of concept and contributed to business case for funding
- Delivered Proof Of Concept of BT Multimedia Entertainment services
- Led the business engagement and acted as Programme Manager for the Vozone project,
which aims at reducing cycle time for network service design
- Led Ribbit business development (large vendor contract, APAC engagement, demo to clients)
- Led the integration of Ribbit by designing and presenting the target operating model
- Wrote the Operating Committee paper making the case for Leapfrog; modelled cost savings in conjunction with Finance team, performed the technical due diligence
- Supported the development of BT’s 21CN voice strategy predicated on key 21CN principles leading to two OC papers. Evaluated different strategic options based on commercial, customer and regulatory implications across all lines of businesses
- Developed business plan and first prototype for BT Webtone.
