Shelby HillI came to BT with over eight years experience in business analysis and software design and testing in the Silicon Valley. After business school, I wanted to find an opportunity that would allow me to expand my skill set while still maintaining that same sense of satisfaction and creativity I enjoyed in my previous roles. In addition, I became personally passionate about working in telecommunications as I believe it is a crucial link that allows people living in developing nations to access information, new markets, new possibilities to create sustainable livings and a way to connect people across the globe in new and exciting ways.
Thus far, I have been on two rotations in the business and am about to go on my third which will be based in Belgium. My first project was in Global Services and looked at ways to improve customer service across the globe by refining processes and technology around service delivery. My second project, in BT Design, looked for ways to improve our return on investment in systems development, align investment spend to top level strategy and to engrain related best practices in the culture of the organisation. Both have stretched me both personally and professionally. I look forward to my next assignment that will allow me to travel the globe and find the best way to imbed a new way of working into the varied cultures in the 110 countries covered by the EMEA team.
