BT’s presence in the Asia Pacific region dates back to 1985, when we first established our office in Hong Kong. With its strong 'rule of law' foundations, open regulatory environment and as the key regional headquarters for many of our global customers, Hong Kong provides an ideal location for BT's Asia Pacific headquarters.

Our presence

BT has a strong history and heritage in the region that dates back to 1985.

Headquartered in Hong Kong we have presence in 20 offices - China (Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Beijing, Shanghai, Dalian); India (New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune); Singapore; Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur); Thailand (Bangkok); the Philippines (Manila); Australia (Sydney, Melbourne; Perth); Korea (Seoul) and Japan (Tokyo)

BT employs over 5000 direct employees (and 25,000 indirect) whose combined knowledge and expertise helps serve over 500 customers.

Over the last 3 years, we have invested over US$100M in our network, with 4 regional service centers in Mumbai, Pune, Dalian & Sydney, 5 regional service desks in Beijing, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur & Tokyo, and 2 next generation research centers in Beijing and Malaysia.

We operate six customer innovation showcases across the region - in Beijing, Hong Kong, New Delhi, Shanghai, Singapore, and Sydney – which provide various demonstration pods for customers to experience BT’s solutions and propositions.

We have a history of inorganic growth in the region having successfully acquired i2i Enterprise in India, as well as joint ventures with Tech Mahindra (India), MDCL (China) and KGBS (Japan).

In the region, we also have some key accreditations - including Cisco Gold, Microsoft and Avaya Platinum – with BT being the only provider to be Avaya Platinum accredited.

It’s vitally important to us that we grow as a business in a way that benefits our customers and society .As a large company, BT has a sizeable environmental impact. We also have the ability to really affect the lives of our own people, our customers and the communities in which we work. Being a responsible company means we accept all that - and actively seek to improve our performance. In BT Australasia we have been awarded “gold band status” in the annual Australia & New Zealand Corporate Responsibility Index , while in SEA we are building houses in rural parts of Cambodia along with conducting food drives and working with the local charities in SEA and NEA while BT India supports four community investment and sustainability programmes in India.
