With a global workforce of over 100,000 people, we have a huge opportunity to make a difference. We want to harness the goodwill and commitment of our people by encouraging them to take action.
We aim to make employee engagement fun, creative and viral in order to inspire our people to change their behaviour and make a difference. Our target is for 20% of our employees to be actively engaged in reducing their carbon footprint at work and at home by 2012.
As members of the CBI Climate Change Board we have committed to work in partnership with our employees to achieve major cuts in their emissions both at work and at home. BT people around the world are being encouraged to form "carbon clubs" to share their ideas with colleagues and to take action together. We have more than 100 clubs so far and want to expand this community significantly over the coming year.
