Dr. Patrick O'ConnellDr. Patrick O'Connell joined BT in February 2005. He is the President of Delivery and Service Operations and is responsible for end to end sector performance, including delivery of BT's contracts with the UK's NHS worth more than £2 billion.
Patrick's experience with large, complex, multi-billion companies and programmes encompasses more than 25 years in government and industry. His previous position was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Air Command Systems International, a multi-national corporation headquartered in Paris, France, contracted to unify NATO's Air Command and Control Systems across 16 nations. He also served as President of Hughes Civil Systems, Vice President and General Manager of Raytheon Information Systems, Director of Space Research and Development for the US Navy, and Director of Low Earth Orbit Systems for the US Government. Patrick has a doctorate in Computer Science and taught the management of large scale systems as an adjunct professor at The George Washington University in Washington DC for 15 years.
Patrick is Co-Director of the BT Centre for Major Programme Management at the Said Business School of Oxford University.
