"The temptation to lose yourself in the technical detail of a large scale programme like the Spine is immense,” says Stephen. “But to understand it as a whole, I prefer to view the Spine through a series of journeys, as a patient in the GP surgery, through an unscheduled visit to the Emergency Department, or the Primary Care experience in the community. Then couple these with secure storage of data and the management of personal information and the enormous benefit it brings. I tend to judge the continued success from a local perspective, through my family and friends, and their journeys within the NHS. It’s a long journey, but we continue to make great strides to transform the NHS and patient experience."
