Suzanne MastertonSuzanne Masterton

Director of communications, BT Health

Suzanne Masterton was appointed director of communications at BT Health in November 2009.

She is responsible for the strategic planning and delivery of all internal and external communications for BT’s work with the NHS. Her role also involves providing communications to support the growth of BT’s health business both in the UK and internationally.

This includes internal communications to inform and motivate employees working on BT’s NHS contracts, including newsletters, engagement events and senior management communications.

Suzanne and her team also manage BT Health’s events and conferences programme and its sponsorships of key organisations such as E-Health Insider, The King’s Fund and the NHS Confederation.

A vital element of Suzanne’s work is to both protect and promote BT Health’s reputation externally, through media management and proactive media and PR. Her team is also responsible for delivering a wide range of collaterals and case studies to promote BT’s innovative and wide-ranging work with the NHS.

Suzanne joined BT in 1996 soon after graduating from university. She worked in BT Group Public Affairs, the team within BT responsible for maintaining BT’s relationships with parliamentarians and the political world. As public affairs manager, she was responsible for BT’s communications with MPs and promoting BT’s work with the parliamentary audience. She also ran BT’s events programme for parliamentarians including receptions, dinners, PR events and meetings before moving to BT Health in 2007.

With a Master of Arts Honours degree in politics from the University of Glasgow, Suzanne enjoys eating out, going to the theatre and gym and visiting her family in Scotland.
