BT is to have a major presence at Healthcare Innovation EXPO 2011 which is taking place at the Excel Centre in London’s Docklands on 9th-10th March 2011. As well as being one of the official partners of the event, the largest healthcare innovation show in the UK, BT will showcase its latest innovative work which is helping deliver better, safer and more efficient patient care to the NHS.
Clay van Doren, President of BT Global Health, commenting on BT’s involvement, said: “The NHS is facing a difficult and financially challenging time as it strives to make £20 billion of efficiency savings by 2014. To meet this challenge, the NHS is rightly looking to innovation to help it achieve efficiencies and increase productivity, whether this is through cutting-edge technology or just smarter ways of doing things.
“As BT continues its drive to reduce costs across its own business, it has gained a practical understanding of the challenges involved and can share its experiences with its NHS colleagues.”
“Healthcare Innovation EXPO 2011 is an ideal platform to give delegates an insight into how BT’s technology and services can deliver efficiencies and provides the opportunity for visitors to hear NHS and BT experts talk openly about their shared experiences.”
“With BT’s long history of providing the NHS with innovative products and services, it seemed a natural fit for BT to be an official partner of the show and we are delighted to be playing such a prominent role. It underlines our commitment to helping the health service now and in the future.”
BT’s stand presence promises to be innovative in its own right. Visitors to stand 58 will have the opportunity to board BT’s “Vehicle of Change” which has been successfully used throughout the UK as an interactive showcase reaching both public and private sector companies. The theme -“innovation, now” - will show NHS visitors how BT’s innovative products and services can help them deliver a better patient experience in the home with telehealth, increase the productivity of NHS people in the community with mobile working and increase the efficiency of their organisation with conferencing services and unified communications, among other innovations.
With over 60 years' experience of working closely with the NHS, BT has a unique understanding of the needs and challenges faced by the health sector. It remains at the forefront of developing new technologies for healthcare providers, bringing real benefits to both patients and medical professionals alike.
Today, BT is supporting the evolution of communications and IT in the modern NHS, helping to transform the way that NHS employees, departments, and agencies communicate with each other and exchange information across thousands of sites. Its innovative approach and range of technologies has helped the NHS deliver efficiencies and cost savings. Visitors will be able to hear BT’s customers share their experiences alongside its own experts at six innovation seminars being held over the two days*.
