BT joins health think tank

BT has become a corporate partner of health think tank The King’s Fund - an independent charitable foundation working for better health, especially in London.

The partnership will create opportunities for BT and The King’s Fund to work together and share ideas on how information communication technology (ICT) could be better used within the English health system.

As part of the relationship, BT was technology sponsor of The King’s Fund’s annual conference in November 2008, and will be working jointly on future strategic events and workshops.

Sir Jonathan Michael, Managing Director, BT Health, said: “BT is an ideal partner for this respected think tank. In recent years, the company has consistently been one of the biggest suppliers of ICT services to the NHS in England.

“It is also the only company in the world with experience of designing and running integrated, secure, end-to-end health IT systems and services on a national scale.”

The King’s Fund provides a comprehensive resource for people working in health. Its aims are to foster innovation, to help develop informed policy by undertaking original research, to provide objective analysis and to help put ideas into action.
