South of England
BT signed an agreement with the Department of Health in Spring 2009 that extended its role of providing services to the NHS in London into the South of England.
As part of this agreement, BT has taken over the running of Cerner Millennium IT systems previously installed by Fujitsu Services Ltd at seven acute trusts. We have also taken over the management of Map of Medicine, an online clinical knowledge resource implemented in primary and secondary settings used by 93 trusts in the South.
In addition we will be installing the RiO community and mental health system at 25 sites.
We will also be working with a number of additioanl acute trusts, which have not yet rolled out new systems as part of the NPfIT, to deploy the Cerner Millennium system.
