Ribbit claims top award

BT software company Ribbit has won a major award for its innovation.

Ribbit won the service provision category in the UK Trade and Investment Awards, which highlight the achievements of businesses with joint operations in the UK and California.

Crick Waters, Ribbit co-founder and executive vice president of business development and strategy, said: “In the past, voice and data existed in largely separate online and offline worlds where incompatible technologies and business models severely limited even basic voice services.

“Our goal has always been to bring new experiences, interactions, products and business models to life for people all over the world - something we’re seeing come to fruition through the support of BT.”

Ribbit board member James Dibbo said: “This award recognition further validates our priority and focus to meet our customers’ needs today and innovating to meet their requirement for tomorrow.”

Ribbit offers a platform that allows application developers to interact with telephone networks. Commercial applications include Ribbit Mobile - which enables people to answer their mobile phone online - and Ribbit for Salesforce, which converts voice to text.
