BT helps Unilever to innovate

UnileverUnilever has extended its £1billion outsourcing contract with BT as part of plans to accelerate the roll-out of innovative new services across the global consumer brand business.

The four year contract extension - worth an additional €173 million – will see BT introducing such services as unified communications, messaging, supply chain, wireless technology and agile working in more than 100 countries.

The new contract further cements BT’s truly global relationship with Unilever as it quickens the pace of innovation across the business.

Said Pascal Visée, chief enterprise support officer, Unilever: “Unilever products touch the lives of over two billion people every day and our ambition is to double our business whilst reducing environmental impact.”

“BT is a trusted partner whose high quality and robust services can help us realise that ambition,” he said.

The original contract with Unilever, announced in November 2002, was the first comprehensive global telecommunications outsource contract ever undertaken by BT and is still one of BT’s largest global deals.

By working in partnership, both companies are focused on transforming Unilever’s infrastructure into one of the most modern corporate networks in the world.
