The shift from traditional telephony to integrated VoIP services has taken another step closer following the re-launch of BT’s wholesale voice-over-IP (WVoIP) offering.
The WVoIP platform has undergone a significant upgrade in a move designed to meet growing customer demand and match the latest internet standards.
“Innovation is not slowing down in the voice-technology arena,” said Beatriz Butsana-Sita, managing director, BT Global Telecom Markets.
“As such, we continue to add value to our wholesale proposition to ensure that our customers are getting the most out of the transition from traditional telephony to integrated VoIP services.
“This platform upgrade makes us more attractive as a business partner and we are actively seeking new resellers and partners to work with,” she said.
BT WVoIP can be seen as the ‘interface’ between the upcoming VoIP world and traditional telephony. This enhanced solution provides resellers with a cost-effective platform on which they can build their own enhanced service offerings for the SME and consumer market.
The upgraded offering is available in The Netherlands and Germany. BT currently also has WVoIP services in place in Spain, Hungary and the Czech Republic. It is also due to be made available in Italy.
And in the UK, BT Wholesale offers a range of IP voice solutions – including Hosted Voice and SIP Trunking options - helping communications providers meet their customers growing demand for the benefits that quality assured VoIP services can offer.
