BAmajor new exhibition has opened at BT’s Goonhilly Satellite Earth Station in Cornwall, offering visitors a chance to experience and create visions of the future.
The Future World@Goonhilly exhibition is the result of an investment of more than £500,000 by BT and offers high-tech entertainment and education for visitors, including a holographic video system, which creates 3D images, a life-size fully-animated metal robot and interactive games and challenges.
Already one of the south west’s leading visitor attractions, with more than 80,000 visitors annually, Goonhilly is also to begin opening all year round for the first time.
Steve Farnell, Goonhilly Visitors Centre manager, said: "This major investment has created an exciting and thought-provoking new attraction for the Goonhilly visitor. It will play a vital role in making the station a truly must-see attraction for tourists and local people."
More than 60 satellite dishes at the site transmit millions of signals every day.
