Leading Spanish restaurant and retail operator reinforces relationship with BT

BT has been selected by Grupo Vips, the leading Spanish restaurant and retail operator, to renew its current communications network, providing it with the migration to the new iVPN service, and the highly advanced voice and data services needed between all of its restaurants across Spain, including TGI Friday’s and Starbucks. The new five-year agreement, worth €8.2 million, includes voice and data services via BT’s iVPN service for Grupo Vips’ 350 establishments including 6 restaurant chains and 10 fine dining restaurants, and more than 10.000 employees.
The new contract reinforces the existing relationship between BT and Grupo Vips and will directly improve the efficiency and quality of their communications, their management and the efficiency of their cost structure.
Antonio Sanzano, Director of Communications and Infrastructure at Grupo Vips, said: “We’ve chosen BT’s iVPN service because with more than 150.000 customers per day we need to make sure that the connections between our restaurants work at 100 per cent in order to guarantee top level quality service. Thanks to this technological innovation we are able to increase the performance of our supply chain, while making considerable savings."
Jacinto Cavestany, Vice President of BT for Spain, Portugal and Latin America, said: “We’re delighted that Grupo Vips, with whom we have maintained a close relationship over the past years, has confirmed its confidence in BT. Our leadership in technological innovation with the new iVPN service and our customer service have been vital for the agreement with Grupo Vips and will mean that its more than 350 restaurants can rely on the best telecommunications services."
