BT Conferencing joins with Ring2 for smartphone audio conferencing control

Global relationship integrates BT Conferencing’s MeetMe
with Ring2’s Mobile Conference Management
BT today announced a global licensing agreement with Ring2 to enable its MeetMe users to manage and control audio conferences from their smartphones.
Ring2’s Mobile Conference Management (MCM) solution will be integrated into BT’s global MeetMe infrastructure. The chairperson of a MeetMe call will be able to use their BlackBerry or Windows Mobile smartphone to manage all aspects of their call, leading to a smoother, more efficient conferencing experience.
Aaron McCormack, CEO of BT Conferencing, said: “In today’s economic climate, audio conferencing continues to grow in popularity and mobile unified communications are playing an increasing role in personal and business life. Working with Ring2, we are empowering our customers to stay ahead of the curve by providing highly flexible means of managing their day-to-day conference calls with optimum visibility, security and control over their calls.”
Steve Flavell, co-CEO of Ring2, said: “BT is a leader in the provision of world class conferencing and collaboration services and we’re delighted they’ve chosen to introduce our technology as part of their core customer offering. By integrating our MCM and MeetMe we can help businesses make the most of their collaborative services.
BT MeetMe mobile controller will be piloted in June and available to customers from September 2009.
