Our Coventry employees have collected 5 tonnes of food for the Trussell Trust
8 October 2015
Employees at our Coventry Parkside building have donated the staggering amount in the last two years.
Our people at Coventry Parkside have collected nearly five tonnes of food over the last two years. That’s enough to provide 512 people with emergency food for three days.
Volunteers Dav Sidhu and Vicki Webb lead the drive for donations. They regularly put up posters around the site which show how much food has been collected.
Every week the pair take donations to the Queens Road Baptist Church foodbank nearby.
“I get a lot of satisfaction from helping local people. It strikes me that many of us could easily be in a similar position,” says Dav.
“It really makes a difference. One day while I was dropping off the donations, an old lady came in to the church and looked very distressed.
“When she was given a box of food, she was so grateful, she cried.”
All our donations go to the Trussell Trust which operates a UK network of 420 foodbanks.
