Travel plan gets people moving
It's difficult to imagine a person more enthusiastic about sustainable travel than BT's Andrew Cassy.
Two years ago, Andrew Cassy, travel plan manager for BT's Adastral Park site (near Ipswich) launched his Grass Routes campaign in a bid to encourage people working at the site to think about the way in which they travelled to work.
Explaining why he set up the Adastral Park travel plan, Andrew said:
"I launched the Grass Routes campaign because I felt it was important to highlight the benefits of alternative transport methods to the 4,000 employees who come to Adastral Park to work every day. I also wanted to provide the best possible travel-related information, and work with local transport providers and other key stakeholders to encourage better links to the site."
He added: "It's so important that as many people as possible get involved. That's why I'm so pleased that Grass Routes seems to have really engaged people who understand that by choosing a more sustainable and healthy way to get to work, together we can all make a big difference to our carbon footprint at Adastral Park."
In this video, which was filmed at a special event (organised by Andrew) to mark two years of the Grass Routes travel plan, Andrew discusses the impact the campaign has made so far.
