Our award winners

"We work with around 300 young people each year, many who do not have access to the internet. Having access improves their chances of employment as well as breaking the cycle of economic disadvantage. IT is an important tool we use to tackle exclusion and isolation some young people face."
Prism Youth Project, Bradford, Yorks & Humber

"Our aim is to broaden the horizons of young people by developing their IT skills and confidence and the BT Community Connections award helps us to do this."

Youth Action @ Hyndburn, Accrington, North West

"The estate where we are based is socially disadvantaged and internet access for our children will enable them to improve their education. These days it's expected that pupils will have access to the internet outside school and this award achieves just that."

Tan Lan Community Centre, Conwy, Wales

"The BT Community Connections award has helped us take full advantage of the many global opportunities that internet access can provide. We've already set up an internet cafe and online radio service utilising the internet connection."

Coffee Hall Community Centre, Milton Keynes, South East

Bentley Silver Surfers, Suffolk, Eastern
"Our IT sessions offer help to anyone who wants advice on how to use technology. Many people just need the confidence to log-on so they can benefit from everything the internet has to offer. Many residents are already enjoying the convenience of online shopping. The internet and email is also a great way to keep in touch with families around the world. Many of our residents are thoroughly enjoying contacting their grandchildren in a way which is just part of everyday life for younger people."

"The award means members of the project will be able to access a whole range of resources which were previously out of reach to them. It will help with school work, employment opportunities and applications for funding."

Positive Futures Inclusion Project, St Leonards-on-Sea, South East

"The award has enabled the children and the play workers to access a wealth of educational software available on the internet, and we are planning online sessions for parents"
