BT delivers telepresence solution for leading lifestyle brand

Tommy Hilfiger, the leading premium brand best known for its designer apparel, has signed a five-year managed services agreement with BT. The videoconferencing solution includes the first 'virtual fitting rooms', connecting offices in Amsterdam, New York, Hong Kong and Tokyo.

An industry first

Through an innovative combination of BT's Unified Communications Video solution and Cisco's TANDBERG technology, the Tommy Hilfiger design teams (based in Amsterdam and New York) will now be able to collaborate faster and more effectively with the manufacturing team (in Hong Kong). Using global 'in-person' communication, the system allows both teams to discuss creative developments in the collection face-to-face, and in real-time, but without having to take long distance flights.

There are additional add-ons such as mobile cameras and recording facilities to make the telepresence interaction more powerful, saving Tommy Hilfiger even more time and money. Supported by BT's 24/7 helpdesk, on-site maintenance, pro-active system monitoring and remote diagnostics, this really is a complete solution for one of the most forward-thinking brands in the world.

Saving the planet too

In addition, by using the virtual fitting rooms, Tommy Hilfiger will be helping to protect the environment by significantly lowering carbons emissions, combining sustainability and cost-savings.
