BT final dividend & launch of BT Forward September 2007

Today (Monday 17 September) sees BT shareholders receive a ten pence per share final dividend for the year ended 31 March 2007 – with e-shareholders also receiving direct access to the latest edition of shareholder magazine, Forward.

The full-year dividend of 15.1 pence is 27 per cent higher than last year, moving BT to a two thirds payout ratio a year earlier than previously announced.

The dividend is expected to be increased, taking into account our earnings growth, cash generation and ongoing investment needs.

Shareholders who have signed up to the BT Dividend investment plan (BT DIP) will receive details of shares bought on their behalf in around two weeks’ time. Anyone wishing to sign up to BT DIP in time for the next dividend can do so online.

The September 2007 issue of Forward is available now to e-shareholders online, with a paper copy being sent to other shareholders.

The magazine includes an update from BT Chairman Sir Christopher Bland, plus highlights of the first quarter of the 2008 financial year.

Benefits to shareholders who have signed up for e-communications include two prize draws – one to win a 14-night Mediterranean P&O cruise for two with £1,500 spending money, and another for a three-night weekend break for two adults, courtesy of Warner Breaks.

E-shareholders can download a holiday voucher with savings of up to £500 from most ABTA-bonded tour operators, and there are discounted holiday offers from Apollo Travel Direct for all shareholders, terms and conditions apply.
