Some of our shareholders have recently received unsolicited telephone calls and/or documents relating to their shareholding in the company from organisations claiming to be conducting research on BT's behalf.
These organisations are not connected with BT and are not acting with our authority. You are strongly advised not to divulge any personal details to callers from these organisations, and to consult your independent financial advisor before taking any action as a result of any unsolicited telephone calls or documentation.
Sometimes these organisations will also pass your details on to non-registered operations based outside the UK, which will ask you to invest in schemes or other stocks and shares. As they're outside the UK, they are not subject either to Financial Services Authority (FSA) jurisdiction or the Telephone Preference Service. If you are approached in this way, we advise you report the matter to the FSA using the online form on the FSA website.
