Welcome to the autumn edition of the Better World magazine.

This issue sees the debut of two new regular columns. Firstly, Just The Job gives you the chance to understand what drives people to work in CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) and In Conversation With is an opportunity for you to get the low down on what industry figures think of topical social, environmental and educational issues. In this edition, Industry Analyst Stephen Young, from Ovum discusses his views on climate change while I kick off the interview series.

We also take a look at the new laws on age discrimination; how social networking site Netmums is helping to end the growing problem of parental isolation; and how winning the BT Award for Primary Teacher of the Year led one intrepid educator on a voyage of discovery to the Antarctic.

And finally, Im delighted to announce that BT has been recognised as the top telecommunications company in the world by the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) for 2006. To be honest, delighted is something of an understatement as this is the sixth year in a row that weve headed the rankings despite the competition in sustainability leadership becoming ever more fierce year on year.

As ever, I hope you enjoy this edition and your comments, thoughts and feedback are always welcome. E-mail us at yourviews@bt.com
