Mike Blackburn
BT North West Regional Director

On 01 January 2007 Mike Blackburn was appointed as Regional Director for the North West.

Mike is a graduate of the University of Leeds, where he successfully completed a joint honours degree in Management Studies with Russian. He is Director, Central Government & Home Affairs, BT Global Services and is responsible for all clients within that sector.

Mike has worked in the Local Government sector for over 10 years and has a profound understanding of that market place including the specialist area of Learning and Skills. Mike's other roles include:

• Director of MIDAS, Manchester Inward Investment Agency
• Regional Councillor for the CBI in the North West
• North West Business Leadership Team – Chairs the National and International Links focus group
• Chair of Commission for Economic Development, Employment & Skills

Mike has two sons and a daughter, and lives in Cheshire. Outside of work Mike's interests are sport, particularly playing golf, and reading. Mike is also a trustee of NYAS (National Youth Advocacy Services) based in Birkenhead. NYAS is a "not for profit" children's charity which offers socio-legal advocacy to children, young people, parents, carers and professionals.
