Better Future Programme Ireland
BT is proud of its role in the social and economic development of both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland and we are dedicated to playing our part.
Through a strong and committed Corporate Responsibility programme we recognise and support the dedication of the voluntary sector and their invaluable efforts in helping to build and sustain communities.

Highlights of BT’s commitment across the island include:
- BT was named Northern Ireland’s most 'Responsible Company of the Year' by Business in the Community NI
- We received the platinum charter for in recognition of our volunteering activities across the island from the Minister for Social Development in Northern Ireland
- BT has won the Chambers Ireland/BiTC Ireland Community award for our support of BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition
- BT was awarded first place in our sector and platinum status for our environmental management and performance in the Arena Network Environmental Benchmarking Survey, which included 129 businesses
- 29 per cent of our employees have volunteered in the community through BT supported programmes
- 92 per cent of our employees our CR activities make you feel more proud to work for BT
- 93% of our people feel we take our responsibility to the environment seriously
The central theme for all our activities is communications, reflecting the company’s own role in society.
