Onevoice boosted by new capabilities

 

BT's Onevoice converged communications platform has been further enhanced with the addition of a range of new integrated capabilities.

 

BT Onevoice Global VPN is an end-to-end service for IP voice communications that makes it easier for organisations to consolidate disparate voice and data networks into a single converged infrastructure.

 

The latest additions to its functionality include global conferencing, mobile access, session initiation protocol (SIP) access and desktop voice capability.

 

The ability to take voice to the desktop on the BT Onevoice Global VPN enables organisations to combine next generation communication services alongside their legacy voice services, all integrated for the user via a single interface.

 

Simon Farr, head of marketing, Unified Comms and Collaboration at BT Global Services, said: "These new capabilities mean the Onevoice Global VPN platform is even better positioned to help organisations converge their traditional networks with IP technology, but in a phased way alongside existing infrastructure without causing operational disruption."

With these latest enhancements, Onevoice offers all the core functionality organisations are seeking from an integrated global voice platform.

 

For example, BT Onevoice Conferencing adds a fully-featured 'on-net' Meetme conferencing service to the Onevoice platform, creating the only global integrated voice-conferencing product for converged networks.

 

 

SIP access provides the foundation for use of collaborative applications and efficient communications with remote, mobile, flexible and home workers. Organisations can also make cost effective use of existing virtual private networks by routing voice calls over their wide area network in a SIP VPN.

 

Onevoice is also cost efficient as all services are from one supplier with one bill and a single service level agreement. Another of the new features, BT Onevoice Mobile Access, means international mobile calls from mobile devices are carried at lower rates on the Onevoice network, also cutting overall call costs.

 

As a result of these latest enhancements, the BT Onevoice GVPN offers an even clearer path to a converged communications environment for any organisation looking to benefit from the improved productivity and capabilities of IP technology.
