SWIFTBT has won a three-year contract to provide managed telepresence services to SWIFT, the financial messaging provider to more than 8,600 institutions. More.

BT Wholesale has signed an agreement with Sky to deliver a managed 118 directory enquiries service. The deal allows Sky to offer a directory enquiries service under the 118 Sky brand to UK customers quickly and cost effectively. More

IT services provider InTechnology has signed five-year deal with BT Wholesale for voice and data services delivered over BT’s next-generation network, 21CN. More.

BT has won a £1m contract to provide data centre hosting services with 24x7 technical support to Antrim-based IT company Consilium Technologies. The three-year deal paves the way for Consilium to advance its business strategy, partnering with BT to strengthen a portfolio of managed service solutions. More.

BT has won a major contract to upgrade the NHS IT communications network in Blackpool. The five-year deal will give health professionals in the region access to a number of new services and technologies, helping them to share information more effectively and improve the delivery of patient care. McAfeeMcAfee Inc has named BT as a preferred managed security services partner for its Network Security Platform appliance. More.

BT Spain and Avis have signed a seven year, 4.5 million euro agreement whereby BT will become the telecommunications services provider for Avis Alquile un Coche, S.A., Avis Contact Centers, S.A. and Avis Rent a Car Portugal. BT will be responsible for the companies’ WAN (Wide Area Network) in Spain and Portugal, the WAN infrastructure for the Avis call centre in Barcelona, as well as for the management and proactive monitoring of the car rental company’s network. A new 21CN service for global enterprise customers has been launched by BT. The BT Intelligent Virtual Private Network (iVPN) service is now available in 172 countries, allowing global organisations to better manage and improve the performance of their IT network and business applications, and reduce technical and operational costs. BT has launched Unified Communications Planning and Assessment services in the United States and Canada. The comprehensive new family of consulting services are designed to help organisations cut through the hype surrounding unified communications and collaboration (UCC) and develop a highly customized UCC strategy that best suits their business needs. A simplified and efficient tool to help customers make the most out of video conferencing has been launched by BT. Engage Meeting Manager 2.0 is an advanced version of BT Conferencing’s powerful web-based scheduling and automation tool. More.

BT has launched a fully-managed immersive telepresence solution, BT One Source, for Polycom Immersive Solutions. More.

London residents and visitors can now navigate the city using the first personal, location-based wi-fi-enabled information service. Called BT MyPlace (www.btmyplace.com), the free “pocket concierge” is available from any wireless device using the BT Openzone outdoor wi-fi network in central London and the West End. More.

BT Business has continued its drive to give small businesses more value for money by introducing savings of up to 34 per cent on its BT Talk Time mobile package, which now includes free mobile e-mail offer and a BlackBerry Bold when customers sign up for 24 months. More.
