BT Global Services showcases sustainability capabilities
Around 20 industry analysts attended a BT Global Services round-table event on June 24th which tackled the theme of global sustainability.
The event, held at BT Tower for those in the UK and via LiveMeeting for others, gave analysts the opportunity to find out more about the sustainability portfolio BT offers its enterprise customers globally.
Kicking off the event, Dinah McLeod, head of the BT GS sustainability practice, demonstrated to analysts how sustainability runs throughout the BT Global Services portfolio. Then Ted Shann, project director, of the sustainability practice, provided an update on BT's Carbon Impact Assessment capability and detailed a selection of customer case studies.
Next, BT's pioneering endeavours in green data centres were outlined by Sanjay Varma, global head IT transformation practice, BT GS. Then the company's 'work anywhere' initiatives and homeshoring activities were discussed by Jonathan Brasnett, mobility capability lead and Ruth Rowan head of CRM marketing, respectively.
Analysts also seemed particularly interested in BT's telepresence story, which was presented by Mark Summerson, general manager, unified communications in BT GS.
Sustainability credentials
"BT has world leading sustainability credentials and has integrated its best practice and experience into its commercial offerings, which are assisting organisations to reduce inefficiencies, costs and emissions," said Ninder Takhar, head of marketing and propositions, sustainability in BT Global Services.
She added: "We have demonstrated how our solutions are enabling enterprise boards to reduce operating costs through increased energy efficiency, baseline their carbon emissions to comply with legislation, reduce impact on the environment, and attract and retain key talent in the workforce."
