NGA roll-out update
BT has provided an update to its super-fast broadband roll-out programme.
- Currently, BT is running two operational pilots in Muswell Hill, London and Whitchurch in Cardiff.
- Glasgow halfway will be introduced as a third pilot from October 2009.
- 1 million premises will be passed by spring 2010 - accelerated to 1.5 million premises by Summer 2010.
- 10 million households and businesses will be enabled by 2012 (40 per cent of UK premises).
