• BT Home Monitoring is a complete home protection system that alerts customers to potential emergencies, with wireless sensors linked to an Internet monitoring service. The monitoring service sends alerts via text message, email and fixed line phone within the UK when triggered by a security incident.
• BT was the first company in Europe to have a dedicated e-Crime and Internet Abuse team and has spearheaded numerous initiatives to provide a safe and secure internet environment. 
• BT Digital Vault is free with BT Total Broadband and offers a secure online location where customers can automatically back up, manage and share photos, files and other information stored on their computers.
• BT Net Protect offers protection from hacker codes and viruses.
• BT Privacy Online offers free protection against rogue diallers while using a dial-up internet connection.
• BT Yahoo! Parental Controls provides parental security tools and enhanced monitoring services to customers, allowing parents to have regular reports on their children’s on-line activity.
• BT works closely with the Child Exploitation & Online Protection (CEOP) who work across the UK and seeks to maximise international links to tackle child abuse wherever and whenever it happens.
• BT’s award-winning Cleanfeed system, blocks an average of 35,000 attempts a day to access websites blacklisted by the Internet Watch Foundation.
• BT is a member of the ICRA (formerly the Internet Content Rating Association), which aims to protect children from potentially harmful material.
• BT created the first Government, Police and NGO endorsed  ‘Internet Green Cross Code’ that simply explains how to stay safe on- line using the message “Stop, Think and Stay Safe”.
• BT introduced the world’s first fully-automated spam buster system in October 2006, tracking down and tackling professional spammers.
• BT works with the Virtual Global Taskforce (VGT) who create a global police presence on the internet. Users can report incidents directly to the child protection agencies by clicking on the VGT logo on the BT Yahoo homepage.
• BT launched a new solution to help combat  card fraud and will ensure that retailers and other businesses that accept payment by card have a robust system in place to meet new UK and European industry standards for protecting against card fraud. BT’s standards-based security assessment methodology has been endorsed by the US National Security Agency - which awarded it the highest ever rating.
