Summary

BT fully supports Ofcom's conclusion that no supplier has Significant Market Power (SMP) in any of the identified markets for wholesale international telecommunications services.  BT believes that the data supplied indicates that the definition of a series of individual route-based markets is no longer tenable at the wholesale level.  However, we accept that this is a matter for interpretation.  Ofcom has instead used the data to derive its conclusion that SMP no longer exists and BT supports this analysis.  We look forward to the rapid removal of regulatory restrictions. BT believes deregulation will help develop even greater wholesale competition and so benefit consumers.
