About BT Group

Entering into contracts

34. As we have explained above, there is no legal requirement for contracts to be signed. Whilst all the services we provide for residential customers are subject to standard terms and conditions, there is no requirement for an order form to be completed or a contract signed (although if you order online, you may be asked to confirm that you accept the relevant terms and conditions).

35. For business customers, there will in many cases be a requirement both to complete an order form and sign a contract. We will ensure that any forms you have to sign are straightforward and that their respective purposes are made entirely clear to you. In particular, any forms that are contractual in nature will contain prominent wording to that effect (next to the signature box, if any).

36. In all cases where someone expresses a willingness to enter into a contract with us, we will take reasonable steps to ensure that they are 18 or over. If the contract in question represents a transfer of service to BT, we will seek confirmation that the person we are dealing with is either the account holder or someone authorised to make the order.

37. When you enter into a contract with us, we will let you know how you can exercise any cancellation rights that you may have.

38. Copies of many of our standard terms and conditions may be found in BT's Price List for telephony services and in the BT Price List . If you would like written details of our prices, please ring us on 0800 800 150 for residential customers and 0800 800 154 for business customers.
