BT, Sky, Virgin Media and TalkTalk launch Internet Matters

Internet safety

BT, Sky, Virgin Media and TalkTalk have just launched Internet Matters, an internet portal that aims to help UK parents keep their children safe online.

In what BT believes to be a world first, and supported by both David Cameron and Ed Miliband, BT joined forces with the other major service providers, extending the reach of Internet Matters to 90 per cent of internet households.

Launching Internet Matters reinforces BT’s commitment to use the power of communications to make a better world. It also supports our strategy to make sure that connected societies are as safe as they can be, ensuring data is secure, privacy is maintained and children are protected when online.

Internet Matters will help parents to understand the issues children can face online whether they are five or 15. We believe this is the first time that major broadband providers have put their competitive differences aside to join forces for such a venture, helping the UK lead the way when in child internet safety.
