Accessibility

At BT we take accessibility very seriously and are always looking for ways to improve our corporate site. Over the past year we have worked to ensure that the majority of our site is compliant to both “A” & “AA” W3C guidelines. In addition we have introduced a Accessibility style changer to help people access content more easily and have deployed Browsealoud across the site. For more information about Browsealoud and to install the appropriate software visit www.browsealoud.com.

Accessibility style changer

The accessibility style changer allows you to change the appearance of this site to suit your needs. You are able to choose from a number of predetermined styles which allow you to alter font colour, size and background colour. The layout of the pages maybe effected if you use this facility in conjunction with the browser text size settings. To change the appearance of the site please go to the Accessibility style changer.

There are also options within your browser that can help you access web sites more easily and the most common one is outlined below. Please note that these may not be compatible if used in conjunction with our style changer.

If you have difficulty reading the text on the screen you can resize it as follows:

For Microsoft Internet Explorer

  • On the View menu at the top of your browser choose Text Size
  • Increase or decrease as appropriate

For Firefox

  • On the View menu at the top of your browser choose Text Size
  • Increase or decrease as appropriate

If you are using any other browser, check its "Help" facility to find out how to do it. There are also other options within your browser to help with accessibility e.g. changing text and background colours. Check your browsers help facility for instruction on how to use these functions.

Page layouts

Most of the pages on this website have been arranged in columns and you'll find that:

  • The left-hand column will always contain navigation menus
  • The right-hand column contains panels of related information, features and promotions
  • The middle column will always contain the main content of the page
