Launched November 2003

Broadband East Sussex is a county wide Broadband partnership led by the East Sussex County Council (ESCC) and involving, Sussex Enterprise, Learning and Skills, BT and the South East of England Development Agency (SEEDA).
Broadband East Sussex will help people living, working and studying in the community to fully benefit from the e-revolution. In particular rural areas and the education sector are set to specially benefit from this initiative. This will happen through the provision of local access centres, home to school link applications and activities to increase awareness of the capabilities of broadband
Working together with partners, local community groups and county broadband champions, the Broadband East Sussex programme has successfully so far:
Introduced a logo, branding and web site for the partnership project
Commissioned a Broadband Wireless Network pilot
Helped disadvantaged community groups - eg: Sidley Community Association
Driven exciting new initiatives to promote broadband use - eg: the interschool "PopStar/Music Challenge"
Delivered flexible-working change-pilots for Council employees
