Milton Keynes broadband partnership

Led by the Milton Keynes Economy and Learning Partnership (MKELP) incorporating English Partnerships - MK Large Employers Association - Milton Keynes Council -

Milton Keynes and North Bucks Chamber of Commerce - South East England Development Agency, and BT

Background

The partnership which will see the two organisations working together to encourage the adoption and effective use of broadband and information communication technologies (ICT) in the Milton Keynes.

 

MKELP and BT share the common objectives of encouraging the take up and use of technology to improve business competitiveness and performance, to improve educational performance and to ensure that local communities realise the many opportunities provided by the technology.

Project description

The two organisations will initially work together to highlight the educational, business and social benefits arising from the use of broadband and ICT. Working with key opinion formers and leaders, the partnership will seek to highlight where new developments can be used to benefit both private citizens and firms in Milton Keynes.

MKELP hope more suppliers will champion the city's economy and increase business competitiveness.

BT is the first global ICT and networking services company to join the partnership.
