Who we are

BT Civil Resilience engagement spans the UK
12 BT Regional Managers each liaise with a Regional Resilience Forum within the UK and their 88 BT Local Liaison Managers each liaise with a Local Resilience Forum (telecom Sub Group) and the Emergency services.

BT’s civil resilience team of senior and liaison managers works in close partnership with the Government to plan ways to keep the country’s electronic communications up and running in disaster situations.

We also work with the emergency services and utilities at local, regional and national level to create effective response plans for major civil emergencies, in the UK and further afield.

In recent years, BT has helped the police to respond during the London bombings, and gave vital assistance during the UK floods of 2007. And we’ve also been out in the field supporting international relief operations following the devastating earthquake in Kashmir, and the Asian tsunami in 2004.

Our emergency services include disaster recovery and incident management teams who work 24/7, mobile exchanges, and a fleet of emergency response vehicles.
