Could your ideas connect cities?

Connected Cities is the latest in a series of competitions created to showcase SME digital innovation being run the BT Infinity Lab. BT has teamed up with Milton Keynes and TechHub to find the UK's most innovative digital small businesses. We’re looking for SMEs that will make a big difference to the cities of the future through imaginative digital products or services.

If you've got an idea that could change the cities of the future, we'd really like to hear from you.

We are interested in how SMEs can help cities to open up new possibilities, and our Smart City prize will the see the winner work with the city of Milton Keynes to turn their ideas into reality. In this category we are looking for SMEs to show how they would use Milton Keynes data and analytics to have a positive impact on the people who live there

Life is now built around connectivity. The connections BT provides every day are an essential part of modern society and the economy. Wherever we are, what we do is a fundamental piece of our community’s social infrastructure. So we never stop searching for new ways to bring social and economic benefits to those places through our products and services. Our Connected Society prize is for the SME whose idea demonstrates how ICT can help society to operate more sustainably. For more information please see the SMARTer 2030 report.

Today, the volume of data we produce grows exponentially. Together with the increasing proliferation of sensors and smart devices (the Internet of Things) it has led to a massive explosion of data and new opportunities to change how our cities function. This radical technology shift is making new ways of doing things possible. We are witnessing a fundamental transition to a new data-driven society and our Internet of Things prize will reward the SME with the most innovative technology solution in this field.
