Small business survey to give older and disabled entrepreneurs a voice

The UK’s largest ever survey of small and medium businesses is for the first time specifically looking to understand the views of small businesses run by disabled people.

The 2009 Business Pulse research will measure the current strength, drivers and inhibitors to successful business in the UK while drawing out those issues specific to audiences such as British entrepreneurs with disabilities. 10,000 businesses across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland will reveal the extent of their optimism for the future recovery of the economy.

The findings will support the agenda of Small Business Week 2009, which begins on 19 October and is dedicated to championing commercial, industry and government support for the UK’s 3.4 million-plus smaller enterprises. It is supported by BT Business, in partnership with the British Chambers of Commerce, Business Link, the ACCA, NatWest, Growing Business and everywoman1.

Small Businesses are invited to take part in the survey at www.sbw09.co.uk/businesspulse where they can also enter the prize draw to win a trip to support team GB at the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games for them and a friend. This prize will include travel, accommodation, tickets to the opening ceremony and a chance to see the world’s top athletes compete.
