Payphones

BT is the UK's largest phone company with over 63,000 public payphones working in the UK. When you are out and about Payphones and Calling Cards can help you keep in contact but did you know that selected BT Payphones have been converted to Internet kiosks with improved access for wheelchair users.

From an Internet kiosk as well as making a phone call you can

  • surf the web

  • check your web based email account or send email
(even if you don't have your own email account, by using our instant email service)

  • send text messages to mobile phones

If your mobile phone has keys that are difficult to see or press, sending a text message can be a problem. At a BT Internet kiosk we have provided a full keyboard to help you write down your message plus a little bit of peace in which to compose it.

BT payphones partners with companies such as HSBC and Bank Machine to offer combined Cash Machines and Payphones.

There are over 250 cash machine payphones on the street. The payphone and the cash machine are fully accessible for disabled customers. Both devices are located on outside of the kiosk, so you don't need to open a door.
