Text Rebate

BT gives money back for the text part of a call made through BT TextDirect because it can take longer to type a conversation using a textphone.

The rates at which money is given back are:

  • Up to 60% off calls made through BT TextDirect from one textphone to another.

  • Up to 60% off the text part of text and voice calls made through BT TextDirect using an RNID Typetalk operator.

  • Up to 20% off mobile calls.

There is no money back on the voice part of these calls.

If you are a BT customer the money will be given back on your BT Phone bill. If you have your telephone service from another provider you should contact them about their own money back scheme.

Text Rebate for communication aid users

If you have a speech impairment and use a communication aid such as a light-writer you can also apply for money back under the Text Rebate scheme. You will need to fill out an application form which you can get in the following ways:
