The BT phone book

Our phone books are written Plain English and we use larger fonts and wider spacing to make it easier to read. However, if you still find the phone book difficult to hold, handle or read you can apply for our free directory enquiry service. To request an application form call 195 and ask for the registration team. Their hours of opening are Monday to Friday 9.00am to 4.30pm, excluding public holidays.

When you are registered on the 195 service you can ask the operator to look up a number and this will be free of charge. The operator will then either tell you what the number is or connect the call for you if you prefer.

If you are registered with the 195 service or you receive your BT phone bill in alternative media you can use the 1471-3 service. This means that you will not be charged for pressing button number 3 to ring back the last person that called you when you use BT Answer 1471. If you think you should be getting this service free of charge please ring 195 to check.

You can also look up phone numbers on-line using The Phone Book.
