Protected Service

Unfortunately we sometimes have to disconnect phone lines when the phone bill has not been paid. There may be a good reason for this, for example you may have had a sudden stay in hospital or you might sometimes find it difficult to remember things or manage your day to day affairs.

Our Protected Service scheme lets you choose someone you trust to act on your behalf. This could be a friend, a relative or someone like a social worker who agrees to be your representative.
If your telephone bill is not paid on time we will try to contact your chosen person by telephone or letter to help us sort out the problem and, if possible, make sure your line is not disconnected.

There is no charge for this service and your chosen person will not have to pay the bill out of his or her own money.

Another option is to pay your bill by Quarterly Direct Debit or one of our Monthly Payment Plans. This means your bills will always be paid on time even if you are away.
